The idea of creating a web site for Cowden Pound Pastures was hatched over a quiet pint one night in "The Kentish Horse", one of our local hostelries. Chatting with Terry (the honorary warden), it became clear that:- (a), he enjoyed a beer or two, (b), he had a passion for "the natural world", and (c), over the years, he had collected reams of information about Cowden Pound Pastures, in the form of catalogues of flora and fauna, photographs, reports and more, all of which was inaccessible to us, mere mortals.
After a little cajoling, (and more beer!) I persuaded him that this information should be made available to anyone who wished to read it, and what better medium than the web.
